Online poker is going to be different from table poker in a casino. First of all in table poker there are rules or etiquette you should be following in order to be respectful to all opponents. Either way for most poker games you need more than one player. If you play against live players you will need at least two to start the betting. Once the ante bet has been played and the first cards dealt the game is not open to anyone else.
At this point you will begin to play the online poker game you chose basing your movements on what you see. You can bet, raise or fold at the correct times and get the appropriate cards dealt.
Once the appropriate bets and card amounts have been dealt, you will get to the showdown. At the showdown you must show your cards for the computer to tell who the winner is. The computer will then add the pot to the winning player and a new round can be started. More players may join the game and some may leave. You can also leave to find a different table or game.
Some of the online poker casinos require a download of software before you can play the online poker. If you need a download you must make sure it is working properly before you start betting. As there is a variation of online poker rooms you get to choose what you play.
